Is my understanding correct that if you drop an aluminum razor on a hard surface the safety bar will bend in a way that can never really be properly fixed?
Thanks in advance for anyone's answer and I apologize if this comes across as denigrating anyone's choice in razor type. I really just want to know.
You don't need to apologize... It's absolutely a good question and hopefully will inform us all.
I'm a fan of Aluminum razors and use them pretty much exclusively. Fortunately, I've never dropped an aluminum razor. Thus, I cannot speak to the potential of damage.
It's my understanding that the grade of aluminum used is rather tough... but so is stainless. Long ago I had a RR game changer that got dropped. The safety bar was bent. It was able to be partially pulled back into place, but it never looked correct.
Hopefully someone can shine a light on this. My guess is, it may be able to take the hit like steel ... with remnants of damage lingering, but not rendered useless? I'll be curious to see what you get for responses.
