I want to start this thread.

If you have a fragrance, that you find is similar to a shaving soap/cream, then post it here.

Of course it's obvious, that we are not looking for fragrances and soaps/creams from the same line, as they of course are identical already.

We are looking for fragrances, that reminds the user of certain shaving soap/cream, or if you just think they would be a very good match.

Me first.

Caties Bubbles le Piment de la Vie shaving soap and Commes des Garçon Black fragrance.

I get the same vibe from these, and I definitely get black pepper and cinnamon from both.

I like the idea behind this thread.

Although they are definitely not the same scent, I find that there are some fairly strong similarities between Cold River Soap Works’ Puro Fresco and Calvin Klein’s ck one.

For me, a beautiful complementary pairing is Barrister & Mann Cheshire Shaving Soap and Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet EdT.

Claus, sometimes it's nice to have a complementary scent, as opposed to an exact match with a soap.  For me, a soap's scent does not really last past the shave itself.  While a matching EdT would be very nice with today's wonderful artisan soaps, it is usually an aftershave or nothing.  Here, again, I don't always find that aftershaves have a lot of longevity.  Therefore, when looking for an EdT, complementary scents will not only work but give a little sensory interest to the morning's shave.  For example, today I shaved with Barrister & Mann's DFS Limited Edition soap but finished with Dunhill EdT (the one in the brown box).  I think they work nicely together and there was just that little something extra when I was done.  At least that's what I find. Smile

Lately I've been liking Stirling Autumn Glory soap followed by Barrister's Reserve Spice aftershave. I know it's not really a "fragrance" per se, but it has quite a bit of longevity for me. I suppose I could get some Old Spice cologne to boost the scent if I wanted to.

Mike's Natural Barbershop reminds me of Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger. Not exact, but to my nose very complimentary.
