This HAS to be a set up.  The only thing they might not figure out is that the headset has to be picked up first.  Otherwise, one would dial the numbers in the same order as they would be tapped on a cell phone.  (Keep in mind, John, this is coming from someone older than you and so hoping I'm right. I am actually quite surprised they didn't pull out their cellphone/smartphone and look up how to do it on Youtube. Big Grin

I can't imagine how lost they'd be if TWAWKI ends tomorrow. It would be the Morlocks and the Ennoi as Verne "predicted". Folks who know how things work (and can fix and make them work) and folks who only know how to use what is handed to them to use.

But in fairness, I think most folks 30 and up would know what it was immediately.

I suppose that’s fair enough, Andrew, as I really get confused with some of the modern ways of doing things.  Heck, I still haven’t a clue as to what the difference is between a gif and a meme.  All I know is they’re pictures of some kind.

Another example: I recently went into my financial institution to withdraw a small amount of cash for incidentals like a cup of coffee or tomatoes at the supermarket.  The young teller and I got into a brief friendly discussion and when I mentioned what I used this small amount of money for, he looked at me as if I had come from another planet and said, “Don’t you use your debit or credit card to pay for your coffee?”  Who uses a card for a coffee that only costs a couple of dollars?  I was amazed so I asked the baristas in my local coffeehouse and was appalled to find out that some folks actually charge the 75¢ for a coffee refill!  Where did the twentieth century go? Confused

Ha Ha! Using plastic to pay for minor amounts! I can't conceive of it.

Yup it does but it was not that long ago. Let me pile on. How many of you old shavers remember the ''party line"?We had four neigbors on our phone. Bottom line for me is that neither of those kids could use that phone but they still smarter than me because they could program my VCR (which I still can't).
