I used my wife's unscented version of tallow & steel soap tonight (the soap was paid for).  this soap is nice and slick and takes a ton of water.  aside from the initial photo of the branding Ryan @ Tallow + Steel adds on top of their soaps, these photos are after extracting the lather from my brush after my 1 pass shave tonight:

That's a good looking lather, I am trying so hard not to keep buying soap but it's very hard seeing pictures like this.

I am watching out for thoughts on the scents of these soaps. Being a citrus/fruit guy I don't want to commit to something I probably wouldn't like.

Happy shaving Smile

Looks very similar to the PannaCrema lather pics you posted. In other words, good!

$25 for a four ounce soap? Did I read that right from the website? Thats steep.

Yeah, but it's on par with say a Barrister and Mann LE and by most accounts so far, has similar performance.

Hello,

We use organic ingredients, our own tallow rendered from pasture-raised, grass-fed beef, and use no fragrance oils in place of essential oils. This results in a true premium product, with costs much higher than other artisans. We know the price point won't be for everyone.

Please visit our thread in the merchant section if you'd like more info. There is lots of discussion happening there, with some reviews posted.

Cheers

Ryan

I just made a test lather of my Dark T+S and I was equally impressed with the lather. Luxurious as all get out, and stayed viscous when many soaps would break down. Can't wait until I Shave with it tomorrow!

I was just curious why that was the case. I appreciate the information about your products.

Agreed on the quality and performance of Tallow + Steel soaps I have tried. They are among the best if not the best performing that I have ever used- enough that I picked up the other two scents yesterday.

I'd also add that I feel these soaps perform uniquely enough to warrant the price point and associated value.

Pretty special stuff.
