Thanks for the business advice, Hector.

I was actually a pretty successful businessman, retired in my mid forties, and still travel worldwide teaching.  So I think I know a bit about good business etiquette and relationships.

I'm not trying to be mean here, just realistic.  The statement you made on the other site was pretty harsh, basically telling "us" the backers of your project, "tough shoit".

The only reason I'm taking the dud is because this has been a long, long, long, journey that turned into a bad, bad, nightmare.

I wish you good luck, but you could have handle this much better IMO.

Hector,

Throughout this entire project, I've done absolutely nothing but give my 100% and act with absolute honesty and transparency.

Clearly, you've had a bad experience with us, and I'm very sorry for that. It has not been my intention.

The last thing I want is to deliver a "dud" razor to somebody who doesn't want it.

If you'd like me to refund your money, just say the word and I'll do it. I'll even send your razor to somebody else in this forum for free. (Anyone out there that wants it, just shout).

I'm truly sorry this has been a nightmare for you.

Thanks,
Patrick

Would you consider offering kickstarter backers the same 90 days period to evaluate the razor, per the pre-orders?

I truly can't make that offer, and I don't see any need to. I'm delivering products far superior to what I originally promised, with the exception of the issue with the blade ejection. I've made that issue clear, and offered two options:

1) take the razor now, with the disclosed blade ejection workaround

2) take a razor in a couple months with the workaround fixed.

I really thought that was an honest and fair approach. I regret that others see it differently.

What happens if a majority of backers will prefer to wait for the 2nd round? Can you take such a hit? (and supply the rest of the razors).

We've had 32 requests to wait for the next batch, out of 890 backers. Our update video has been played 744 times, so a majority of our backers has likely seen it.

In short, I don't believe that will happen.

Good to know.

I can't imagine building a razor from scratch, organizing funding and then, after production realizing an issue that impacts the razor. Seems like supply provisions has gone through a lot.

Furthermore, they've offered to send backers and buyers a second batch without the issue and have even offered money back to others. So what's the problem? It's not like we won't be able to shave if we don't get this razor...

Sometimes we (myself included) fail to give people the benefit of the doubt. No need to beat up on Supply Provisions, just accept one of their remedies and move on. I've opted to wait for batch 2 and am fine with that.

I think you've been fair. I think you are just seeing the vocal minority speak their minds. Speculation and assumption that they won't shave as well are simply that until proven otherwise - if it can be done at all. It is unfortunate that the flaw resulted in the blade ejection to not work as originally intended and designed, but if everything else works otherwise, then there is no reason to toss them (as long as you are upfront with the flaw, like you have been). I preordered mine at the beginning of January sometime and am still interested in receiving the first batch.
