Shipping details on their site says "pay now, razor in May".

I hope it works out for everyone. Sure looks interesting but too bad the preorders don't come with all heads and case.

You definitely have the option to preorder the Custom Single Edge on our website - and the travel case too.

Beginning yesterday, all new preorders on our site have been slated for a May delivery. Our backlog is going to take us a couple weeks to fulfill - putting us in May for all new orders.

Isn't the custom option a Kickstarter exclusive? Remember you mentioning that, ~September.

Our backers (you!) are the ones that helped bring this vision to life, so we view you as part of our family. For this reason, we've decided to make the "customizable" version of the Single Edge exclusive to our Kickstarter backers for the time being. We're not offering this product to anyone else at this time. We think that's pretty cool!"

Ah! Yeah I can definitely see how that's confusing. The Custom option was a Kickstarter exclusive for a while, but it turned out to be a terrible idea. The demand for the Custom option was just too high, so in January of this year we made the announcement that we would open the option back up.

Best news so far - now I am more than happy to wait longer and get CNC machined plates!

Without wanting to cause too much grief - but I was very disappointed to hear, that you will go with injection moulding in the first place. There are always issues with that process and razors...

Hey Backers,

Thanks so much for your patience as we iron out all the final details to get the Single Edge out to you! We’ve filmed an update to give you an in-depth overview of what’s coming, but for those of you that like the short story, here are the high points (important stuff is bold):

   In mid-March, we hit a minor snag with manufacturing that took about 3 weeks to clear up. Because of this delay, we are now looking at a late April or early May delivery date.
   The delay is due to some issues with the investment casting tooling for the Single Edge baseplates. The handles came out great, but the baseplates did not. For this reason, we are having to completely remake the tooling for the baseplates.
   Remaking the tooling and casting new jaws will likely take until late May or June. However, I’m not willing to make you wait that long to receive your rewards. For that reason, we’ve emergency commissioned a machine shop to CNC machine all of the first batch jaws.

So, for those of you that don’t speak manufacturing, here's what that means to you: We’ve upgraded the manufacturing process so that we can get your rewards out to you as soon as possible. These CNC’d jaws have turned out to be almost three times the cost of the cast versions, but they are being produced quickly and to my satisfaction (both in regards to surface finish and tolerances).

Anybody gotten their tracking # yet?

Hopefully you'll all start hearing some news within the next few days. Things are still moving slower than we want. But they're definitely moving.
