Last week I used the ST plate and decided that it shaves well but I prefer a smoother feeling shave, this week was the HA plates turn and I’ve been doing 3 pass shaves and I have to say this razor is amazing. To me I find that the HA plate is smoother, maybe it’s because I’m paying more attention to it. I think the Stirling handle design is probably my favorite part of this razor. I do have to say that you need to keep in mind that both plates have blade feel but if you don’t mind it give the Stirling razor try[Image: 3669a25d5ee3ae656127312f1cd4561b.jpg]

After three years Rod decided to try and remove the made in China batch of razors. He was able to do this and decided to put them up for sale. Last year I sold my Stirling SS razor with the HA plate and regretted doing it. When I found out they are were fot sale I grabbed one (HA) plate and an extra (ST) plate. I also bought the Austin handle. At the moment there are only 8 pieces left on his website. Unless something changes in the future once there gone that is it. The picture shown is with the HA plate.

Love my original with both plates that I got from Rod so I jumped on this immediately and can’t wait to try this version! It’s a must own for anyone who loves aggressive razors. This is by far the most aggressive DE I’ve ever used, BBS in one pass, it’s a beast!

I too had sellers regret of the original complete set. Rod stated that the machining tolerances are probably actually better on these. I imagine they're going to shave identical as they are identical razors just machined at different machine shops to his specs. Mine received last week shaves the same as the USA made ones I owned previously. Technically these are the original ones that were set aside and put on hold until he could scratch off the USA made since they were not made in the USA LOL I'm a huge Stirling fan and I'll make sure I hold on to this set now that likely will not be reproduced.

2 pieces left and then they are probably gone for ever.

Update: All the razors and parts from the original made in China are sold out and probably we will never see again. However, I have an extra ST bottom plate on BST for only $25.

Great razor but it’s very efficient. Also the handle options are very impressive and not the typical mass produced options. I still enjoy this wonderful tool

I revisited this razor quite a bit last month and have only gained more fondness for it. My only razor that’s capable of shaving as close is the Rocnel Adjustable. Not even the extreme high gap WR2’s although they never clog and are easily cruise controlled. Both plates give such an audible shave that I’d say they are the level 4 and level 5 spiritual successors to the Charcoal level 3.

Really grateful to Rod for putting in the time, money, and effort to design and release this monster. If a Titanium version were ever offered I’d absolutely buy it.

Does anyone know the actual gaps and exposure for the two plates please?
