Sounds like this is way too aggressive/much blade exposure for me, but nice looking razor kit. I still look forward to reading others' impressions as I really like Stirling as a company.

Please don’t misunderstand me, this razor is very well made, I really liked the handle and the shave was smooth when I tested the prototype but this razor is definitely designed for guys who are in the hyper efficient shave category, it does let you feel the blade throughout the entire shave.

Out of curiosity, do you find the Blackbird to have more blade feel than the Charcoal L3?

For me, I find the latter has more blade feel, but is less smooth than the former.
I have been using my Blackbird SBs with a shim and if the Stirling razor is as efficient as you are stating, then I may have to try it.  Shy
I find the Blackbird to have more blade feel than my Charcoal Goods level 3 version 1 or 2 but I know many people find the Blackbird very smooth and efficient just not for me.

Thank you for your response.

I heard Stirling is getting very close to a release date. I also heard the razors are beautiful.

From my prototype trial it was definitely smoother than the iTech which I find harsh and not usable unless I "ride the cap"
