First use of this artisan soap made by Elena "Jabones by Luna", who lives in Barcelona and is achieving considerable prestige with her vegetal base soaps. These can be considered "vegan" as no animal products are used at all. I have mentioned before that I nowadays gravitate clearly towards tallow soaps, but decided to give this artisan a chance and couldn't be happier with the result. The soap is outstanding, right from its first use. Today I used the "Fauno" sample as the rainy weather out there didn't make the "hierbabuena-mango-lima" (spearming-mango-lime) mentholated soap very appealing. Fauno's scent is based on orange, lavender, clove and perhaps something else in between. Intensity is spot on, IMHO, not overpowering nor faint. Latherability is great, so are cushion and slickness, but then the post shave is great, also, leaving a perfectly hydrated and smooth skin after its use. It performs brilliantly in all benchmarks and I'm looking forward to using the mentholated one tomorrow. By the way, I bought my ladies some of her regular soaps and they are quite happy with them.
- Merkur 37C+Gillette Sharp Edge
- Plisson L'Occitane
- Jabones by Luna "Fauno" (sample)
- Speick+Bulldog.
And hope you don't mind me sticking yesterday's shave in here. Just couldn't find a gap. It was a great one because Valobra is one of my favourite soaps, and the Contour is my favourite multiblade razor.
