prep - shower with Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk Original Formula bar soap - brand-new bar at that.

brush - "Olivier" boar
soap - Cold River Soap Works Jardin d'Orange
post - warm water rinse, DSA “Pure & Natural” alum, cold water rinse
aftershave - Mennen Skin Bracer

SWMBO picked up a boar brush (20 mm?) from the Salvation Army Thrift Shop to surprise me with. Her heart was in the right place, but sadly, it's a really awful brush.
It has "Olivier" printed on the wooden handle, but I could not find anything about it on Google. It looks very different from the one that Olivier Soapery offers, but it may have been something they used to sell, and before they changed their logo or something. As it turns out, they're about an hour's drive north of me, so, yeah, it seems likely that that is where it came from.
I believe it's one of those "50¢ for a kilo of brushes" deals from dgate or alibaba. Shedding, a great variety of bristle lengths, and very stiff.
It was not bad for creating the lather, but getting it to leave any lather on my face was a different matter.
The CRSW soap made up for it, and I got a BBS. No feedback from the alum.
Now I'm off to fix myself a snack of President's Choice "Crisp & Thin" Mini wheat crackers, a tub of Mascarpone cheese to dip them in, and two dozen green grapes. Life is good.
