Everything was in order for a great shave: two days growth, a great razor dialed in perfectly, second use of blade, a great brush, and a good soap.

While it had a good end insofar as the end result was a smooth face without any nicks, weepers, or razor burn, the shave stick detracted from the overall experience. This was my first use of the stick that was a throw in from the vendor when I bought the razor and it felt quite gritty as I applied it to my face. Upon inspection I found this:

It looks like some elements in the stick have hardened. I thought I might raise up the stick, slice off the offending part and proceed from there.  The stick, however, will not raise no matter how much I turn the dial. I guess I will pitch it.
