JabonMan "Vetiver de Haití" balm
First time with the Eufros. This is serious stuff. Truth to be told, I was close to discard it and put it for sale without using it. So strong is the scent as you open the can that is almost a slap in the face. It's a very potent Vetiver. Very herbal and spicy. He who likes Vetivers will love this, but I'm new to this fragance and found it shocking. I decided, nonetheless, to give it a go and test it yesterday at night, right before bed. Loaded the brush for twenty seconds or so, and was rewarded by an impressive amount of lather. It easily produces twice as much lather as the Alvarez Gómez, which was my closest reference, for the same amount of load. A thick and protective lather, tons of it. Enough for three passes, touch-ups and confort lather with some to spare.
The scent changes a lot on the face and delivers herbal, and woody scents. It smells of earth, wet grass and a wood fire killed with water, with a spicy background. I'm not good at describing scents but it smells like that. The scent remains on the face after shaving for a while. It's very pleasing, a winter fragance, definitely. I passed the alum block even though I had no nicks, for the alum is a very good tell tale in order to let you know whether there has been irritation or not, and it only stung a bit on the lower neck area, where I had to do some touch ups due to weird growing pattern of my whiskers. Rest of the face was OK. The blade glides superbly and the post shave is amazing. You can tell Manuel has used top quality ingredients in this creation, that deserves the "Premium" tag in all justice. So far it has passed the test and I dare to say it's the best soap I've used, even though the scent was shocking at the beginning, but as said, whoever likes strongs Vetivers will love it. The performance of the soap is somewhere between the stratosphere and the moon.
The balm is also awesome. No oily sensation at all. I could have done without it as the soap contains enough good ingredients to care for the skin (lanolin, rhassoul, shea butter amongst others) and I really felt comfortable after shaving, but I could tell the difference after using it.
Thanks for your magic, Manuel.
