Two passes, with and across the grain, and the result has surpassed what we'd call "presentable" to veer clearly into BBS territory. As my technique improves, I'm more and more fond of my Edwin Jagger. I was close to pull the trigger on a Slant twice, for it looks that this razor is, apparently, a good idea for those guys (like myself) with hard and dense beards, particularly if they grow almost flat and not straight as they should. But I'm in no hurry. I have learned that if I use short strokes, close to, but not as short as the "blade buffing" technique taught by Mantic59 in his channel, I get a closer and smoother shave, and most of the times I can skip the third pass ATG.

The rest of the gear performed superbly. It's that kind of gear that gives you a hard time choosing something that would surpass it in any aspect you may have in mind. The Speick lotion you see pictured there has been slightly "beefed up" with some extra Witch Hazel and menthol. It's been clearly beneficial on its performance. It has diluted the high alcoholic content on it and added some extra astringent and cooling effect.

BTW, I'm waiting for some Jabonman products to be delivered. They should be home tomorrow morning. Can't wait. Really. I can't.

• Bufflehead Soap Co - Fifth Season
• Barrister & Mann - Cologne Russe

Where to start with this shave? Everything was stellar, even the Feather blade. I'm starting to wonder if the irritation I typically get from Feather blades is a result of a reaction with their coating and my hard water. Now that the hard water is gone, I had absolutely zero irritation from this shave.

Fifth Season (representing the 615) is a nice light scent. The citrus & juniper are noticed first. As they back off the amber & musk come forward. I'm not a huge fan of musky fragrances but this one is balanced nicely and I quite enjoy it.

I finished off with the Cologne Russe Tonique and it went along with what Fifth Season started quite nicely.

Yeah, it is a shame that it's no longer available but I have found the performance to be very similar to the stick. I really like the looks of the Manantiales container, but it's not very user friendly when it comes to loading the brush.
