Shave of the Week Starting 1 January 2024

No Name razor
Suneko blade
No Name Synthetic brush
Dr Selby 3X SC (it's a soap!)
Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
Various A/S

A wonderfully nice shave to start the New Year. I picked up the No Name razor/brush a little while back at a local street fair. Thought I would support the local vendor and what a nice surprise these turned out to be! Both work very well for me and the Suneko blade is also a nice surprise. Had heard good things about them and decided to get some to try out. Glad I did too. They are sharp and smooth, good combo in my book. Really enjoy the Dr Selby 3X SC although it should be called a soap. Regardless, it works great for me and has a very pleasant scent. So all is well and my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

HAPPY NEW YEAR SHAVE WITH THE NEW ACCUFORGE BLADE

This was my first use of this blade. Some thought it was the Comfort Coated blade, just rebranded. IMHO, it is not. The review goes into my detail of the blade.
I used the blade with the Athena SS and the Blackbird Ti handle. This combo seems to work very well for me. I have ordered the Timeless Ti Crown handle and will use it with the Athena SS. Make no mistake, the Athena SS is OUTSTANDING. I just had issues holding and maneuvering with the handle. At first touch of the blade, I was worried it was going to be a problem. I WAS VERY WRONG. The combo of the blade and the Athena was wonderful. Mind you, this blade is not an auto pilot blade. I was slow and attentive to angles and the result was one of the best shaves I have ever had. What really surprised me was that as sharp as the blade was, I had absolutely no alum burn, which is very rare for me. Just a fantastic shave today. Now before you run out and buy the blade, you should read my review as to a cost analysis vs. benefit of blade.

Tatara Masamune,

Astra SS,

Stirling Agar,

Zenith Manchurian,

Denim Gold...

The first shave of 2024 was partly with last year's favorites. Of course, Masamune may not have been the tool I used the most last year because I just got it, but it looks like it will push the top rows this year. It makes you feel that it is a premium tool with its shaving character, quality and design.

My Zenith Manchurian badger bristle brush is not the same backbone it was when I first bought it, it has taken on a more moderate backbone, it has become softer, it seems like it has come into its own setting. It will be among the brushes I will use the most this year.

Stirling Agar impressed once again with its woody scent and foam performance. I think I can use this soap frequently throughout the winter.

Denim Gold was my favorite scent of last year. This year maybe I will use it a little less frequently, only on special occasions, otherwise I don't want it to consume soon

Once again, I wish everyone a year full of health, peace and happiness, have a great shave to everyone
