Mastro Livi Stainless Damascus, 8/8 Full Hollow, Spanish Point

This straight razor is just one more proof of Mastro Livi's superior skill in forging stainless steel. This straight razor is in fact made by a totally artisan made stainless damascus steel and, moreover, it is completely made from martensitic stainless steels. This means this stainless steel damascus is perfectly suitable for hardening and making cutting edges. It was made two years ago by Mastro Livi in his workshop and I witnessed its making, just like all the straight razors he made for me. Today Mastro Livi calls his artisan made stainless damascus steel as "ArtInox" and this razor was one of the very first ones he made by making this type of stainless damascus steel. As a matter of fact, Mastro Livi experiments with new steels all the time, including modern steels, and he has always been committed in researching and experimenting new steels and forging techniques. This straight razor is just one of the countless results he has been capable of achieving in the course of his sixty-two years committed to straight razors making and steel processing. Shaving with this straight razor was absolutely impeccable and super comfortable. Of course.

Bad, rainy, cold and unpleasant weather make the perfect occasion for this Vetiver. It had to be a quick shave so I reached for the Sensor (2 blades). Result was good in terms of shave closeness. No irritation also but I did make myself some damage on my chin, in the form of a couple of weepers that required the help of the alum stone. The cartridge felt rough and uncomfortable in comparison with the much  smoother shaves I had had this week with my Merkur 37C. Perhaps this cartridge was a lemon, but if I do feel the others equally rough, I may ditch the  two bladed Sensors to the bottom of the drawer and stick to the Mach 3 when I'm in a hurry.

Soap: Saponificio Varesino Arctic Tundra
Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel

Fragrance: JPD Oud Noir

Wonderful shave this morning to start off Sunday. I can't say enough good things about this soap, it lathers easily, offers excellent protection and glide. I've been searching for a while for a scent to match up with this soap and I think I found it. This Oud Noir has a wonderful woody scent with a slight citrus note, it matches the Arctic Tundra well. One pass with the Supply, two with the Chimera and I'm left with a DFS. Have a great day folks![Image: 47c39b772c51a1df66b102c762367a5a.jpg]
