Made it through this shave today, I should have replaced the blade before shaving with this razor. I did make it through with one minor nick. Didn't get this photo to my liking either. Back to the drawing board. Smile
Have an excellent evening.

Doug please tell us about the soap.  It is the first time I have noticed it in a SOTD

It's very difficult to pass judgement on the soap as I was in a hurry, had a dull blade and a floppy brush. It did seem to form a good lather with no scent. I believe it is a vegan soap. My wife bought the brush as part of a gift set with a Vie Long Cachurro horse hair brush for Christmas. I will try it a few more time and post a review. Thanks for asking.

Merkur 37C Slant
Gillette Silver Blue #3
Eufros Premium Ylang Ylang
Edwin Jagger+VigShaving Finest 3 Band
Tüff+Speick

Another glorious Eufros shave. From the very beginning to the end, surrounded by a pleasant and elegant floral scent. I wasn't so fond of floral scents until Manuel sent me a sample of his "Dama de Noche" (another floral named after a flower typical of the south of Spain) and I got myself a sample of Catie's Gardenia. Then I was sold. Scent notwithstanding, what will really get into you of this soap is the performance, ease of lathering, and post shave. On par with the big dogs out there, and rightfully so. His new Premium formula gets as close to the performance of a good tallow based soap as it is possible to get, IMHO. Just hope he eventually develops a tallow based soap as some of us have asked him to do. We don't have that many of those at this side of the Pond, and importing them from your side is costly and involves Customs fees quite often. And I'm loving the Slant. It's made my shaving much easier.

By the way. I heard that the Slant dulls the blades faster than other razors and I've found out it's true. My beard is dense and coarse, but the Silver Blues usually lasted four shaves with my EJ 89s. Today it was the third shave of this blade and I could already feel that it was having a hard time. A Polsilver has replaced her for tomorrow. Those worked very well on the 89, I hope they perform at the same level on the Slant.

Tallow + Steel Grog Soap and AS

Tallow + Steel, this my friends is the real deal in the up and coming soap artisans. I had a wonderful shave with Grog today and Rainforest yesterday. Great scents and the shaving quality is top notch, great lather, cushion, and slickness. Well done Ryan!

Soap: Route 66 Frozen Margarita

A/S: Folsom & Co. Shambala

A very high quality 3 pass with a touch up shave today. As expected the Frozen Margarita whipped  slick cool protective lather. Just opening this soap starts the shave off right. Excellent scent very refreshing. Finished with Shambala for a darn near BBS.
