One odd thing about the blade. It was going to be a Feather (6), but when I was tightening up the head and admiring the alignment, I thought I saw a spot of something in the middle of one edge of the blade. I could not brush it off. 
It turned out to be a tiny (0.5 mm or less? barely visible at any rate) chip out of the edge. I'd never seen anything like it before. It might explain some of the weepers I was getting in recent shaves. I tossed it.

About the alum: next week it will have been 1.5 years ago that I started that stick. There is still at least 1/4" to go before it gets level with the plastic handle. I think I'm getting my money's worth out of it. (CAD$7.95)

Good morning everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave today! Went back to Cella shave soap and balm. Great classic Italian almond / marzipan scent and excellent lather whipped up with the Simpson "Chubby" 2 Super Badger brush for two passes (+ touch-up) with the EJ 3ONE6 and I finished with the matching after shave balm and Penhaligon's "Sartorial" EdT.
