Today I debuted two new to me goodies: The Razorock Stainless Lupo 95 and Hub City Morning Hike shaving soap.
The Hub City was a sample sent to me by
Stubble Daddy (thanks again, Paul!). It's definitely a unique scent. A combination of several notes of which I cannot begin to detail (I smell something citrus like grapefruit, and maybe Lavender? There's also some sort of wood Accord... Maybe?). The sum of the parts is a sweet, unique and nice scent. Definitely something different than anything else I've used.
For my maiden voyage with the razor I decided to use the lightest spare handle I had - A Gillette Tech. They go surprisingly well together, and the weight balance wasn't horrible, though its obvious that the handle is on the light side.
It was either the slick soap or the razor, but it was a smooth shave. I nicked myself, so I definitely knew the razor was there. Still, it ended up being a nice and close shave in 3 passes and some cleanup. One shave out isn't enough to make a determination, but so far, it's doing a great job.
Next, we'll probably try a soap I know, just to be certain it wasn't the soap making it so smooth and easy.
Happy Saturday DFS!
