Arko Original Cream
VDH Natural Boar Brush
Merkur 30C DE Razor
Wilkinson DE Blade (Walmart)
STEPHAN Lilac aftershave/cologne For Face & Body
Well, I need to get off my butt and order some shaving supplies. I’ve only got a little ARKO left in this tube. After that I’ll be down to a puck of VDH soap. The ARKO is good economy cream, but I prefer something with a little more protection. The VDH Boar is really all I have left for a brush; need to get another brush also but not in any big hurry because it works great. The 30C is the one with the standard Merkur head and the black knurled handle. The handle makes it a little more head heavy to give a closer shave without pressure. The quality of the plating and the razor itself is much better than some of the other Merkurs I had. It gave a good shave despite the issues with the blade. I’ve had this razor for 4 years and never opened the box. I was saving it for the shave apocalypse. As I’ve said before I’ve been using up a lot up the stuff I had put aside. I’m going to enjoy it now. If the shave apocalypse comes (and it won’t) I will grow a beard. The Wilkinson Blades are the ones that come in the old Gillette style metal magazine that they were selling at Walmart years ago. My memory tells me they were quite mild. These however pulled and tugged. Another item set aside for the SA. Now it’s set aside for the round file. The Stephan Lilac was great! Tightens and soothes the skin. The scent is pretty heavy and lasts. A lot of folks don’t like Lilac as it may seem like something your Grandmother would wear but this Lilac really smells like Lilac, not like flowery dusting powder. So call me Grandmaw but I like it.
