Well, that was a very smooth shave, with the highlight being my 1st use of the 'Archduke'. It holds an absolute bucket full of water, and made light work of Mike's unscented...I was unsure of what to expect when I applied it to my face, as when dry it is very stiff, much like the Rooney 2-Band Heritage (Jade) that I own, but man-oh-man, 'GEL' is the word... absolutely nothing harsh about this brush.. gentle, like the breath of a dove...;-) Seriously though, this is up there with the Heritage, and Simpson 2-Band, a real lush brush!!

Two passes and a couple of touch-ups to achieve a BBS. Loving this razor and blade combination.

After days of excellent shaves I decided, For Auld Lang Syne, to go back to the sad old ways. I have no aerosol shaving cream but the Wilkinson Obstinate was a suitable and appropriate substitute .

I was very pleasantly surprised at what a great, two pass, shave I got from that old razor friend.

BRUSH: Mickey Odds 'N Ends Longfellow. Synthetic with just enough backbone to beat that Wilkinson Shaving Soap.
SOAP: Wilkinson Shaving Soap.  A most difficult soap with which to work. I flooded its bowel at 6 pm last evening and used it at 6 am this morning. A battle royal ensued.
BOWL:  Yoresh Electric. Never a problem.
RAZOR: Wilkinson Protector. I used this razor for twenty years. It is rather ugly. I call it my Red Blob.
But - it is the most ergonomically perfect razor I have ever used.
BLADE:  Wilkinson Silk Effects 2 edge cartridge. Made for the ladies' razor but works in the mens razor. BBS+.
PASSES:  2 (Two)+  Light touch up.
SHAVE: Wonderful.
AFTER SHAVE:  Old Spice Classic Scent.  Very strong. Leaves face feeling hot.
