Spring Rhapsody
I'm getting to the end of my Rhapsody, as you can see from the photo. I went with a 6-5-4 progression today with very good results. I think I still like triple nickels (5-5-5) better, but this got the job done. The soap lathered like a champ and released its complex, intoxicating scent of spring. I had bay rum on my mind, too, so I used my favorite - Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Murdock Avalon pre-shave oil
Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn - W.Indian Lime cream
Bowl: Fine Accoutrements
Brush: Omega boar 10005
Razor: Valet Autostrop VC-1
Blade: De-spined Gem (5)
After: Pur-est Spice AS, C&E W.Indian Lime ASB

Picked up a travel-size set of Crabtree & Evelyn West Indian Lime shaving stuff from M&S at half price. I already have their Nomad and Sandalwood flavours which are top notch so thought I'd try another one.
Lather was ok but a little thin so next time I'll try using a synthetic brush which I find gives a thicker lather. Even so, the lather performed excellently giving a nice BBS with this cave-man razor.

The Valet today gave really good results but I find too much care is needed during shaving and it feels like the razor is just a holder for the blade (blade on a stick kind of thing) and requires more patience than I have - even on a Sunday. Just too historical for me.

Have a great Spring everyone.
