HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  I hope you had a great day!  Happy

I think I've said it before, but I love that brush!  And, it appears I'm not the only one...  Wink

SOTD-04oct16:
Fatip Grande / Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus
Vintage Blades 24mm 2-Band Finest
Route 66 Casablanca
Fine Santal Absolut

This was my 1st shave with the Fatip.  I've heard how "dangerous" they are, but a little respect, a light touch, and a slick lather resulted in a very close shave.  This 2-pass shave was actually as close as my normal 3-pass shave.  This is definitely an efficient razor! I didn't want to push it with a 3rd pass, because I wasn't sure how my skin was going to react.  My face feels very good, though.

Hot Water Prep
Castle Forbes Lavender Shave Cream
Kent BK-4 Silvertip
EIKO YSK.2 Full Hollow
Scrupleworks Vegetable Tanned Horse .. 20/50
Bloc Osma
Thayers Witch Hazel
Pinaud's Clubman AfterShave Splash

A great shave with the new EIKO. Unusual for me, finished on a full synthetic progression, ending with the G20K. Much smoother than I had expected ... Perhaps the Gokumyo is everything they say it is?
Used the "Gold Standard" of Shave Creams, Castle Forbes, well deserving of it's reputation...

Simply superb!!

No idea why the Clubman Gel should work as well as it does - - mostly just glycerine - - but it works great with the injectors. Cold water all around today and the I2 remains a favorite, easy BBS.

The more I use Tallow and Steel, the more I appreciate it. After having several uses under my belt, I'm inclined to elevate my slickness rating from 8/10 to 9. The water tolerance and capacity is elevated as well. T+S was instantly in my rotation upon my first use, but my rotation is getting larger such that if every one of my favorites gets equal use, it will be weeks before I see it again. "Dark" is one that I cheat with. It gets bumped up in the rotation because the scent is intoxicating. While my first impression was peppermint patty and chocolate covered coffee beans in a cedar box, it's acquired more depth with continued use. Now, I'm not suggesting the scent changed, but rather my nose may have accepted some unusual characteristics allowing others to the forefront. For instance, I still get clear peppermint and cocoa notes, but it's less candied and more coffee, cocoa, and green grassy mint. I've also discovered the "cedar" is simply a smoky vetiver, but the overall scent is far from smoky. Dark is a clean and crisp scent that just continues to unfold with use. Dark has a complexity that unfolds in a similar fashion to B&M's Leviathan. It's no secret that upon my first use of Leviathan about a year ago, I found it off-putting, only to become addicted by the end of the day. The two products' scents are not particularly similar, Leviathan being slightly murky with leather notes and Dark being much cleaner. The comparison is with regard to their development. Dark was never off-putting, mind you, but my appreciation of it has certainly increased.

The new Tallow + Steel “Dark” insights are a valuable addition to the originals, and your outdoor photos are just as cool as the indoor ones. Smile

Sorry if this is off topic. Beautiful picture and gear. I just got a Schick injector like that and was told it was a G1. Is that correct?

It looks like an I2 Hydro-Magic injector to me. So, I'm with jmudrick on this one. Here's a good source for identification of Schick injectors: http://www.safetyrazors.net/schick/schicktech.htm

Have fun with the injectors Michael P! They can be a lot of fun!
