Thanks to the kindness of Mike (mpf9ret) I got the chance to use a GEM Junior before its conversion into a sevette.[Image: 20150805_082046.jpg]
That handle is weird eh? But the gold plated head is rather good looking.
The shave is not my cup of tea at all though - mild with very little blade feel. Nonetheless, the end result is very comfortable and super smart.
This only convicts me further that for me the 1912s are legitimate candidates for sevette conversion Smile

Prep- Ach Brito lime soap face wash
Soap- Barrister & Mann 'Vetiver/Heather/Clary sage'
Brush- Neep Beehive 24mm three band
Razor- Mongoose B2
Blade- Kai titan mild [9]
Post- Stirling 'Sharp Dressed Man' balm

First use of the brush, lost several hairs but expected. Brush is very soft with good flow through, so far very pleased.

Select Wednesday
I waited for the mail to shave today, such was my excitement to try Cold River Soap Works Select Jardin d'Orange, soap and balm.  I have to say the presentation is classy.
I really cannot review it so soon, but my first impressions are all very positive.  The scent starts out orange, but not like candy, more like the plant, then becomes woody and warm.  I really like it.
The performance of the soap is also impressive - easy loading and building on my face to a nice yogurty texture.  Three smooth passes with my New LC left me with a drama free BBS.
The balm carries the scent on and absorbs quickly making my skin feel great.

Prep: warm shower
Soap: CRSW Jardin d'Orange
Brush: HIS Lather Monster
Razor: Gillette New LC
Blade: Voskhod (2)
AS: CRSW Jardin d'Orange balm

Comments:  Not much to say about today's shave except I think I need to spend some time stropping the Gold Dollar as it is starting to tug just a bit.  No issues with the Arko as it always gives me great, slick lather. Even thought the GD did tug just a bit I was able to finish the shave.  I did get a very good shave today and not quite my usual DFS shave! No irritation but I did get one small weeper!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

Thx.
