Thanks Hector! It wasn't horrible. Just some irritation for an hour or two afterwards. It was definitely efficient, but kinda harsh as well. I might give my skin a break for a few days and see how it mows down some growth.

Jeff, the OCMM can be quite an aggressive razor. Good luck with the subsequent shaves. Shy

Thank you celestino! Hopefully I can adjust my technique or angle and get a better result. If not, this won't be one I use very often.

Do you have prior SE experience? They are in general much different than DE razors

Razor: Valet Auto Strop VC2 (?) W/ Modified gem stainless (1)
Lather: Mason Boutique "Vivian"
Brush: Shave Revolution Synthetic
Post: Stetson

Haven't used the auto strop since the first week I got it. The only 2 prior shaves with it and a feather carbon blade were awful. But with my new found desire to really master SE razors I decided to give it a shot. This time with a modified Gem stainless blade. Did a 3 pass shave and my face is super smooth. Did get some irritation on my neck but it was not too bad. The angle on this razor is incredibly easy to find, just lay the head flat and use a very light touch.

Yes, that's pretty much all I've been shaving with for the past 5 months or so. Vintage GEMs are my favorite razors right now. I have 2 Featherweights, a Micromatic Bullet Tip, a 1912 Damaskeene, a Type L Schick injector and now the OCMM. My next acquisition will be the Ever Ready 1924, aka Shovel Head.

I have a MM Clog Pruf, Gem Pushbutton, Valet VC2, and a shovel head. The shovel head is very aggressive so when you get yours be careful lol. I've one been SE shaving for a few weeks now, that is if you don't count injectors. If you count injectors it has been a few months.
I think I'll go with a featherweight or Damaskeene next

Hector, I shaved with a set-up very close to this a couple of days ago and it was outstanding! Enjoy!
