I went with just two passes today to let my face heal a bit. The scent of Route 66 Cavendish is very nice, but the window of water tolerance is rather narrow. I put in too much, and the lather was lacking. I loaded more soap and it worked fine. Tabac is a good compliment, but honestly, I like Tabac enough to wear it everyday.

Ryan @ Tallow + Steel Grog - there are many good soaps out. This is a Super soap; one that takes things the the penultimate level of performance and scent and joins others such as Eufros, Pannacrema, Glissant. Well worth a full and comprehensive review which I will post after further use in a week or two. The riff on Bay Rum is absolutely superb!

Had a great shave today. 3 passes for an extra DFS. XTG both directions then ATG. No irritation and a smooth face has me ready for the work day. Have a great day everyone

Thank you, that's very nice of you to say! My personal theory on pre-shave products is that they shouldn't sit on top of the skin, but rather make the skin softer and more supple for the razor to glide more easily. The theory is trying to make a hyper-moisturizing pre-shave that performs similarly to glycerin pre-shave soap, but with a kind of residual slickness. Very happy that it's working for you, and thanks for the kind words!
