It reminds me, very much, of the fragrance, Le Vainqueur by Rancé, which, unfortunately, I finished off last summer. It's a perfect pairing, IMO, which needs to be bought, again. I also feel that this soap could benefit from a little menthol. Nothing much, but a slight cooling would enhance this soap, further. I've sent an email to Michelle, asking if she has considered it. Anyone else have an opinion on this? I'd love to hear the thoughts of those who have already used it.

I just used the same soap for the first time yesterday and i agree that it's a strong summer scent - not like any other grapefruit I've tried. Now that you mention it, menthol would be a nice addition. I also like your pairing with Proraso Green splash. I think any GIT based splash would also work well.

I've had a reply from Michelle, who is thinking menthol would be a nice addition to the P&F. She is going to make another batch with the same amount of menthol as is present in her other soaps. Sounds great. Smile

Nice!

After having a sort of winter flashback last week, with miserably rainy and way too cool weather in the north of Spain (particularly), that made me grab things like Tabac or MWF for my shaves, instead of the usual citrus, mentholated or floral scents, warm weather is back and it was time for my brand new Eufros Premium Ylang Ylang to jump into the dance floor. Expect, from this soap, the usual and stellar performance of Manuel's Premium line, with a delicate, elegant and pleasing Ylang Ylang, Jazmin and Mirrh scent. It's not as strong as his Vetiver de Haití, which is almost overpowering and not suitable for everyone. This is more subtle, but intense enough to be perceived thoughout the whole shave. I loved it.

The brush is my old EJ Best Badger, re-knotted with a VigShaving Finest 3 Band knot, which has been installed at 22x47 mm. The knot itself was quite cheap, and has performed brilliantly. Truth to be told, I didn't expect it to perform this well as when I dry tried it on my face it was quite coarse, but after a two minute soak it improved a lot. It's certainly scrubby, but in a pleasing way. I exclusively face lather and do it thoroughly, and had no irritation at all. And it has lost 1 (ONE) hair during the few lather tests I put it through since it got home last week. I have a Finest 2 Band waiting for a handle that looked better than this one when dry, chances are it will perform even better when wet. Can't wait.

A Feather in its fifth use into my Edwin Jagger Kelvin (I'm loving the small handle to bits) and boy, the blade still cuts through my coarse facial hair like a hot knife in butter, with three minor weepers reminding me that a Feather is always a Feather. Handle with care. Three passes, BBS.

Speick splash+Bulldog. DFS.

Have a good day, gents.

SOTD-21jun16:
ATT SE1 w/Hempel Ti / Feather AC Pro Super
Romera Rustic Chubby
Nuavia Rossa

This is the first shave that I've changed out the Bamboo handle for something different.  I used the Hempel Ti handle.  It seemed to be more comfortable to me.  I felt as though I had better control over the razor.

This shave was also the first one with the Feather AC Professional Super blade as I had been using the Professional blade for all of my shaves with the ATT SE1.  Now, yes the Super is thicker and provides more blade exposure, but it felt smoother to me somehow.  There was definitely more blade feel, but, again, I felt more in control of the shave.  It's only one shave with the Professional Super blade, so I won't crown the Super, yet.  I still have the Feather Professional Guards and Kai Captain Milds to try out, also.

Nuavia: pre-, pro-, and after-shave.  Yes, sir!  I love the scent of Rossa the most.(Until I use Blu again  Rolleyes)
