Baby Steps
Thanks to my friend Byron Miner, I had a partial shave with a straight razor for the first time. I used a 6/8 on my cheeks for one pass and finished up with the Futur. It went well, except I did cut myself along the jaw. I realized that using a straight means I need a magnifying mirror, since my eyesight isn't what it used to be. It was foolish to try today - I got lucky finding the angle mostly by listening to the blade.
I also tried Mystic Waters Pompelmo & Fiori for the first time - I know, one variable at a time! The lather was very good - the scent is very green and herbaceous- not so much fruity. I finished up with BM Classic Splash and Shea Moisture Elixir.

Today's shave does not deserve any pictures.

BRUSH: L&LG magical custom synthetic. No name yet.
SOAP: The real Shaving Co. Professional Formula - Excellent
BOWL: Mickey Bowl electric. Hot stuff!
RAZOR: Merkur Solingen Slant Head. No comment or judgement until I try another blade.
BLADE: Merkur Super Stainless Platinum Coated. Abominable. 2nd useless use.
PASSES: 3 + Endless touch up. To no avail.
SHAVE: Dreadful.
AFTER SHAVE: Aqua Velva Ice Blue. Usually cool and soothing but. Set my face afire thanks to the blade.

Brush: DFS LE w/Envy White

Soap: Route 66 Frozen Margarita

A/S: Booster Iced Lime

Truly one of my favorite Gillette razors. The extra weight in the handle of the Aristocrat makes a big difference in my opinion. The Frozen Margarita provided a long lasting, slick lather, protective cushion and glide with soothing post shave conditioning.
