Asylum Royal Fougère shaving soap (tallow)
Haircut & Shave P076-SB Copper/H&S Black
Wilkinson London Bridge (8)
Asylum Royal Fougère aftershave

The soap required some work but made a very good lather, and it and the aftershave have an excellent English Fern-type of fougère scent. The razor is smooth and efficient and has the best auditory feedback of any that I have used.

Razor: CG Lvl 2 Brass w/Maze handle
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Simpson Duke 3 Best
Pre-shave: GD Moisturizing Pre-Shave “Rainforest”
Soap: Boellis Panama 1924
Post: WCS Fine Aquamarine AS
Two passes (WTG-ATG) for neck.  One pass (WTG) for face; DFS

The GD moisturizing pre-shave makes an incredible difference, when used with the Panama.  The Panama is a great smelling, classic, and easy to lather soap.  But it does not have the highly moisturizing properties of the newer artisanal soaps. The GD pre-shave is the perfect solution, and the “Rainforest” scent does not clash with the scent of the Panama.  Shave two on the Voskhod with the CG Lvl. 2 was outstanding.  Very smooth and close.  Much smoother than the Feather blade I used previously.  Overall, a terrific shave.

Happy Shaves to the Gentlemen!

It’s orbit season! The first heat of the year has settled in here and should keep rising over the weekend. I missed this stuff, but only a few shaves left in the tub.

Also been working on lathering differently after getting some notes from HoosierShave. It ain’t quite at his level, but we’re progressing.
