I'm carrying on with my intention of finishing off all my samples and with taming this stubborn portuguese little one. The frequent use it's seeing and the prolonged soakings in warm water are paying off and lathering has become easier. Tips are already broken in so I have a feeling that it'll eventually become a very good brush.

This Portus Cale has a lovely scent and an excellent all-round performance. Excellent three pass shave with these two excellent portuguese products. Velva paired up nicely with the soap.

- Portus Cale black (sample)

- Semogue 1470

- Sensor 3

- Velva

Superb shave today. Smooth and comfortable with my Rockwell 6s, Astra SP in the R6 plate. I love the scent of Beaudelaire so much that I keep a backup set.[Image: 087437d93c3800291ffd2aefa778851b.jpg]

Two days ago I shaved my goatee, the straight hit my chin for the first time in almost 2-years. Did I trim before shaving so I could see what I was doing? No! The result of that is that my chin is very tender and red; yesterday’s shave wasn’t a good idea either, but I recognized that too late. Anyhow, my chin is telling me to take a vacation and I will do just that so no 42’sday shave for me today.

Sorry to hear about the irritation. A day or two off and you will be ready for another go. Try Aloe Vera Juice/Water ice cubes. Works wonders. (Picked that tip up from PAA).

My first shave with Turtleship shave soap. First impressions are positive, but I would like to use it again for back to back shaves. I have a touch of razor burn but it could be other things in the shave chain.

Next shave will likely use the same razor and blade combo but swap the balm for CL fourth & pine AS. I wasn't a huge fan of the heavy nature of the Stirling balm unfortunately.
