SOTD: Nice easy colorful Valentines Day shave this morning - hope everyone is doing well!

I suspect the AS-D2, with a brand new Feather blade, might be one of best razors for “mapping your beard.”  I built up a normal lather, and made sure it had time to settle into my face, for the first pass. After that, I thinned out the later considerably and this razor, with this blade, pretty much let me take as many passes I wanted.  I could “chase” every single bit of stubble without cuts or irritation, as long as I remoistened the area after every stroke of the razor.  Now, I also took care not to use excessive pressure, and my face long ago “toughened up” through the use and enjoyment of more aggressive razors. However, this morning's shave seemed to offer endless opportunities to keep shaving, so-to-speak. Very interesting, and helpful for beard mapping, but certainly not ideal for every day’s shave....

P.S., The Falstaff brush is a new member of the den.  So far, every Paladin brush I’ve acquired has been absolutely stellar, and this one is no exception.  Top quality craftsmanship on the handles and beautiful knots, every single time.  I suspect, based on my admittedly limited sample set, that you just cannot go wrong with any of the Paladin brushes.  The differences between the knots aim to address preferences but every single knot has been of a very high quality.  Really impressive stuff.
