In terms of smoothness and comfort, how would you compare L2 with L1?

Lots of good products to enjoy in wet shaving these days. Blackland Razors and whollykaw are among my very favorites.

- Gillette Sensor Excel (2 blades)
- Eufros Kasbah
- Omega 31052
- Speick+Korres

Hard to choose between the two-bladed and three-bladed versions of the Sensor cartridges. If forced to, I think I'd still pick up the three-bladed version over this one, because even though this older twin blade model appears to me as a bit milder on the skin, achieving the desired results is a bit more time consuming (for me) with this one than with its more modern sibling. Being more time consuming somehow defeats the whole purpose of using a cartridge razor, at least for me. I usually reach for them when time is a factor... or when it's so early in the morning that I need an "autopilot" equipped razor Big Grin.

I'm glad I took a chance and bought the combo, I'd certainly recommend.

Sourav, both versions are quite smooth, but I would say the L1 is smoother only in that it has less blade exposure/feel. However, if you want a more effective shave, than the L2 would be a better plate, depending on subjective factors for each individual.
You should be aware that the L2 plate has a substantial increase in blade exposure and it may be a bit too much for some if they find the L1 to be perfect. Shy
