Tomorrow's shave same as today. The scent of this soap and aftershave is incredible. Great performance too. The Simfix came this week, I've always wanted to try a Simpson two-band. It has great face feel with plenty of backbone. Very nice.

Michael, congratulations on starting shaving with straight razors!
Did you start with the custom Max Sprecher, in addition 8/8 Spanish Point? Cool!
Thank you so much for the encouragement Navarrsky! Obie and celestino have been very supportive as well.
I started with the straights a little over a month ago-going very slowly, a few strokes at a time, and doing the majority of the shave with a DE or SE.
After a month, I got to the point where I could complete the entire shave with a straight-I started out with a Ralph Aust 5/8 and a Livi Grifetto.
I treated myself to a Max Sprecher, and it really is very special. I think I actually prefer the larger size, and I'm careful with the point
My shaves are not accomplished yet, but I realize I'm at a very early stage in the process. After 45 years of traditional shaving with DEs, I was at a point where a comfortable BBS was virtually a daily occurrence. I'm resisting the urge to compare those shaves with my beginning attempts with the straight. But I'm committed to being patient and focusing on technique. I've begun to understand why there is so much enthusiasm among those who shave with straights.
Thanks again!
All the best,
Michael P

It's been a while since I posted any SOTD pics. Partly because I grew out a beard for about a month. I decided to shave and leave the mustache. First time I've really tried to grow one. I'm enjoying it so far at about five weeks growth. I must admit I had to get over the feeling that people were staring. Now I just don't care.
First time using a Black Ship product. I must admit that I was skeptical for a couple of reasons. First, I generally prefer tallow soaps, and I'm used to soaps with a lot of ingredients. Well, I must say that Kelly's approach to a soap base works. If I had any complaints, and it's really more so of just not being used to the soap, it's very soft bordering on croap. I certainly should not have bloomed it like I usually do for soaps. The scent is spot on reminding me of the original Lord of the Sith. Kylo gave his grandfather an assist in the picture as well.
