This is me to a tee as well which is what I like about this one. The face feel you get along with the efficiency but in a SS package which I haven't been able to find until now.

It has some bark but have not found it to have the bite of some other aggressive razors. In four shaves no weepers nor irritation.

Please do keep me/us posted. The cat is getting out of the bag but I do like this razor and find it a pleasure to use. I'll plan on posting full thoughts over the weekend after a complete week of shaves across several different blade types [have used Feather to start and switched to Gillette today].

Couldn't agree more, the feel of this razor is going to turn some heads in the near future I believe. I'm definitely in the open comb fan club and this may be the bar by which they are measured for me.

What a beautiful Red Tip ensemble!

Thank you for your kind words. The blade pack and instruction are still in the original wrapper.

I finally bit the bullet and purchased a tub from England. No one was willing to give theirs up on the soap-trade threads. What I can't get over is the color of the paste. It's like red clay. Hope it doesn't stain my shave towels.

I had the same thoughts with Dark Limes as they use Black Clay but was not an issue.  So what is the aroma like? If I remember right besides Scott Whisky they added a smoke aroma to the mix. How is the aroma on this, strong on the smoke side?

I was prepared for an earthy, slight ammonia, peaty aroma and I was not disappointed. There is definitely a tobacco element as well, fairly penetrating I might add. The color of the cream was at first off-putting, but as I was face lathering, it became clear how the dark cream could work to my advantage. The more water that was incorporated, the lighter the lather became. I could immediately see a glob of drier lather, and address it. When it comes to smells, I am a rather eclectic person, so it should come as no surprise that Strong "n Scottish has secured a place in my shave den. Regarding the quality of the soap, this is my first experience with Meißner-Tremonia, so I am going to reserve judgement until I have at least 7 shaves under my belt.
