We've had some cold and rainy weather over here lately, so after rotating all my tallow based soaps, I had put my Eufros Premium "Vetiver de Haiti" on "Ready 5" condition, just in case it was required for action on short notice. But this morning, the sun showed up for a calm, pleasant and bright winter morning, and that meant that a different, more invigorating and optimistic scent was to be used. In those conditions, the Alvarez Gómez cream is the perfect choice. An elegant, mildly citric scent over a warm woody background, perfectly perceptible but not overwhelming, in a shaving cream that lathers easily, provides a great cushion and an excellent glide. I paired it with my old Omega boar, which was my second brush when I got started in traditional wet shaving (one year ago) for it's one of those products that will give you a lot in return for very little money, so it deserves a place in my rotation. Furthermore, today, it was the perfect choice in order to straighten out my two days growth stubble.

A perfect match between the Slant and the Polsilver blade provided a BBS result after three passes, although I had some irritation under the right side of my jaw. My bad. I did a couple of touch ups without re-lathering, confident in the residual slickness that this cream usually leaves behind it. But it looks like it wasn't enough when using a brand new, sharp blade. Nothing serious. It was gone in a couple of hours after using the Speick lotion, some Aloe gel and the excellent Eufros balm.
