Three passes and touch-ups around my chin. Seems I had a harder beard today or an clumsy hand, but after three passes I needed a couple of touch-ups on there. Not a hint of irritation, nor any weepers. The level of slickness and protection of the Alvarez Gómez cream rates really high, and I'm sold to the scent. Lovely.

Prep: Lots of hot water to the face and a smearing of Prep preshave
Razor: 1940s Super Speed
Blade: Israeli Super+ Platinum (2)
Brush: 28mm Fauxmere in Whipped Dog handle
Lather: B&M Roam
Post: B&M Roam Kyovu

Ahhh, a much better shave as a result of proper blade and razor pairing. The previous two shaves had been fairly rough. Falling back to one of my timeless classics, a Tech married to an Israeli Super+ Platinum, nearly always results in a fine shave.

I freely admit, I went into this shave very prejudiced against Roam Kyovu. I used Roam just one time before and that was right after I received it in the mail at the time of B&M's scheduled release. Last time I used Roam soap and its overpowering and complimentary Kyovu I got so sick of the scent on my face as I lay in bed trying to sleep I got up and washed it all off.

This time around I used just a few drops of Roam Kyovu and not the very, very healthy splash of aftershave I normally do. That has made a HUGE difference in my perception of Roam Kyovu. While I am not crazy about the scent, it is growing on me and I don't think I'll sell it after all.
