Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.
Wonderful Friday shave! Returned to Stirling Soap Co. and their excellent "British Leather" shave soap. Great scent & lather built with the Riva Brushes ST badger brush for two passes (+ touch-up) with the Mamba 70 and I finished with Dana "English Leather" splash & EdC.
Hope you have a wonderful day.

This is the third Moon Soaps I've tried and the second that I own. Moon Soap's shaving soaps are quickly earning a spot in my best-of-the-best category. And for good reason.
Union has such a wonderful bright fragrance. I was instantly a fan of this scent. It's complex and clean but smooth and put together like a fragrance from some well-known established high-end perfume house.
The book says Union's notes are fresh lemon, soft sandalwood, oakmoss, amber musk, bay, and a touch of nutmeg. I'm here to tell you this is a scent that'll be universally loved.
I've been jumping between using Feather Super blades and ProGuard blades in this razor. I want to put this razor and these blades to the test and really learn how the razor handles each blade with one being the least aggressive and the other being the most aggressive. I do sort of wish I had some middle-of-the-road Professional blades but for now I'm testing with what I have.
I'm getting consistent close shaves with the Rx-V2 no matter the blade. However, the ProGuard blades are more forgiving. While the Supers are very sharp, requiring a very light touch to avoid excessive irritation.
Sadly I don't have the matching Union aftershave, so I thought about what I have that comes close and that would pair well. Stirling's Mediterranean Man has a wonderful scent. One that I thought was a pretty darn good compliment to Union. Except that I did feel a small bit of menthol was in order. So I busted out my menthol crystal grinder and added a pinch to the aftershave before applying it. This turned out to be a rewarding experience. That pinch made all the difference and satisfied my need for a proper complimentary fragrance.
Overall this was a great shave. I've become a big fan of Moon Soaps and the products they make. Now I just need to pick up a bottle of matching aftershave.
Alright, that's it. Thanks for reading and enjoy your shaves.
Prepare for mind control!
