This razor ventures somewhat beyond a “safety” razor in the sense that, if you let it, it will go further than what’s healthy for the skin on your face.  This can be mitigated by using a pre-shave product, and a good soap but still, with a sharp blade, the end result is up to you.  There’s no “cruise control” on this razor.  It makes for a super smooth result, and a sense of accomplishment, which can both be very rewarding.  I can tell, for example, that when I started using this razor, I still didn’t know enough about how to wet shave.  It’s nice to have a sense of having learned a lot and progressed over the last twenty months or so.  It’s still fresh, enjoyable, and rewarding ....
