This razor is made with simple carbon steel, now about a hundred and fifty years old. It is still the best shaver ever made, with millions of others made in Sheffield. The steel is easy to sharpen and it holds an edge perfectly, for a long time with stropping. The skill learned in sharpening and stropping is a bonus.
