Well, here's a challenge if I've ever seen one celestino Smile

You should watch this excellent video of the Merkur Man method for lathering Mystic Waters soap . It changed my life.

Don't give up on it yet because it really is an excellent soap.

First soap i ever threw away. I didnt even wanna waste money shipping it out to someone. Although, i do love the performance and the 2 oz jars.

Macho camacho I agree with you on Un Joir Gris - not a grey rainy day smell at all and disappointing all around. My hands down favourite CB scent soap and aftershave is Midnight Dreary. I really like that one

As several have already said: hate is a strong word.

So, the soaps/creams that have been on the negative side for me, all due to scent which is entirely subjective:

- Cella - way too sweet for my taste
- B&M Latha (original scent) - too much powder
- RazoRock XX - too light, but didn't enjoy the bit I could smell
- LASSCo Myrkvior - almost liked it, but just too funky... and yeasty?
- Hardy Anise & Bergamot - I should've known that since I don't like the smell of black licorice I won't like an anise-heavy soap. Obvious now.
- Dapper Dragon Autumn Morning - thought I'd like it, but didn't. Maybe the brazil nuts?

The only soaps that I've experienced that I blame for bad lathers have been local soapers, or obscure brands which weren't really lathering soaps. Oh, and one bad batch of J.M. Fraser.

Were you interested in a coffee-scented soap? I like Autumn Morning, but my favorite straight-up coffee scent is PAA's Spring-heeled Jack. Favorite coffee+other notes is Leviathan. CB Irish coffee is on the sweeter side if that interests you. I still need to try Tallow+Steel Dark

You should try Reef Point Espresso if you haven't already. It is easily the best coffee scented soap I have tried. I haven't tried PAA's yet so can't compare to that one. How is the scent strength on the Spring-heeled Jack? I love PAA soaps but the scent strength is severely lacking on some I've tried, while a couple others are perfect.

Mark, I am always open to challenges with any water and this soap. All anyone needs to do is contact me and I'll pay for the shipping of their water to me and I would be glad to conduct the experiment via Skype with them in real time and I would only open the package when we Skype. Shy

Oh, nice! Will definitely try Reef Point. I have Intrepid. I find Spring-heeled Jack strong. I only tried two other PAA soaps - Beach and the BSW2 coconut sex wax and oud. I find all three with great scent strength

That's good to know on the Jack. I guess most of them have been medium to strong but recently I bought Enigma Machine and it is way too light, almost unusable for my preference.

Let me know what you think of RP Espresso after you try it. Another nice scent with a coffee not is SV Cosmo. That one is a more complex scent that has coffee in it, so it's not really coffee forward.

Yeah - I foolishly passed on Cosmo when the Shave Revolution clearance came up. The scent pyramid has notes from all over the place - like citrus and coffee?! So I forced myself to pass.

I also forgot Stubble Trouble Up and Adam is an expresso scent. I sniffed it this year's Big Shave West. Expresso with a bit of sweetness. Haven't tried any of their soaps yet.

Same soap I hated last year, the year before and the year before that ... Cella!

Don't really know why.... It's like the Chicken Chow Mein that made me sick in high school... I can't stand to think about it!
