Ted, my pleasure and I glad that the shea butter is beneficial for you! It is a great product!  Happy2

Please, don't misunderstand me as I adore Mike's soaps and some of his scents. However, I find myself very draw to my preferred soap, along with one other. Shy

Aurelian28, SC's fall scent this year was a Lavender/Vanilla/Amber scent... was the scent you are talking about the berry/woods scent from 2015?

Yes I think so, I had to dig for it, it's buried in the closet.. lol. The name is Connections.

I just got my latest SC, I think it's called Serenity. I am liking this one.

Although I am not sure why, but I sense some of "Connections" DNA in "Serenity" (a faint berry-like scent), this is far more pleasant and refined.

Aw thats right... connection. I was never able to get my hands on that, although I do think I purchased that body soap as part of my moms Christmas gift last year. I do enjoy serenity and can see how you find similar traits between the two (from what I can remember about the scent of the connection body soap).

My experience was the same as yours. I tried to lather many different ways. I could not get it to perform. I had the 70th anniversary and the scent was...meh.

I wanted to like it because it is so well respected. But, for me, if was my biggest disappointment of 2016.

Saponificio Varesino was a disappointment for me as well. Airy/fluffy lather and dried the skin out. Too many ingredients.

Overpriced by US vendors. They only started making shave soaps recently and keep tweaking formulations. Nice packaging but not for me.

I know we are in the minority Mark, but at least we aren't alone. I thought my hard water was to blame, but even after spending thousands on a water conditioning system the stuff still wasn't even worthy of shower soap status.

I'm also in the camp of SV being highly overrated and overpriced.

I too jumped all over SV in a thread where a shaver was asking about the soap. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the scent strength of these soaps, and Felce Aromatica is an amazing scent. However, the performance of these soaps is just nowhere near soaps I favor in the $12 to $18 price point. The lather typically disappoints, is a bit airy, and not as slick and protective as other soaps I have for much less. I will not be buying Saponoficio Varesino again. If they priced them around $15 I'd be buying them, if only for the scents alone.
