Soap with the best post shave

IMHO, most of the formulations works fine.
Mechanics is the fast and easy part of the game.
The more richness in fats, the nicer skin feeling.
About one month ago DanLaw sent me a sample of Ethos Clean, and It'd land soon.
He says this is THE soap I need.

After trying hundreds, thanks to online groups and friends, I've this idea.

People with real skin issues, can find better tools than the superfatted and superhyped low-tech ones.

When you've just technique imperfections, save money.
Point how to shave with what you've.
Best q/p strategy.

Just ordered CuttingEdge and Mystic Water, haven't tried them before.
My faves are Ethos and GroomingDept Otium.

I've tried all the usual culprits, DG, GD, WK, M&M, Mystic Waters, T&S, & many others. Whan I tried Ethos this past late Winter, I found a new #1 soap. Hands down the best soap I've ever used for slickness, residual slickness, cushion, & post-shave.

I've tried many of the brands mentioned and I am not sure I can say that I disagree with many brands/soaps people have. I think my skin has had awesome post shave from a lot of soaps but it is hard to define what the best felt like. They are different but if I had to give you a range of different soap types, I'll mention 4 brands. American artisan tallow soap I would say it's a tie between Mystic Water and Mike's. Second place is Declaration Grooming Bison Tallow. European artisan would be the original EO blend of Le Pere Lucien traditional. There are a handful of SV soaps that my skin is consistent with so I prefer those most of the time.

There are plenty of great soaps available so it is daunting to try and catch them all.

Bingo. As well, one should be washing all that super fatted "gunk" from their face after shaving. If you are really dry then forego hyaluronic acid and use the revolutionary new polyglutamic acid that holds more than four times as much moisture. No soap can touch that.

From what I have experienced I would say just soap alone, ETHOS and PannaCrema Nuavia have the best post shave feel. However, once you use Frank's SFS, ETHOS post shave feel is unlike any other brand.

BPman that is a cool suggestion, I checked it out. I have tried a few serum with positive results but I just haven't been able to repurchase the ones I liked.

Focus on physiology.

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural component, works in deep.
Polyglutamic Acid is a synthetic product, works on surface.
Better together, in synergy. But if I've to choose, I'd go with the first.
On the long run It pays better.

Industry love PGA because It's cheap!!!
And works fast, because its mimetic activity.

Back to shaving soap, as PGA old formulas do not work deep.
Those are great on mechanics, but do not work on physiology of the skin.
If / when little surface issue (mostly from technique imperfection), they're more than enough.

You'll like Cutting Edge. To my experience it is tied with Wholly Kaw for third best soap and that stating a lot for a first release from a new soap maker. Besides, Dave is great guy.

How "deep" a moisturizer goes is irrelevant as people use them mainly for cosmetic effects on their face. It's just like glycolic vs. salicylic. Regardless, there is no "soap" on Earth that can even remotely come close to this. To say otherwise is pure unadulterated BS.
