Congratulations, Chris. I too became a first-time grandpa about 6 weeks ago. It's a life changer, stimulating one to look at their life and legacy, a good new role.

Congrats! Hope you get to see them all soon. Tough situation, but from the outside, I can't imagine how I could have handled better.

Thats great news Chris, 1500 miles is a long way but I hope you get to share in your son's joy. I'm still a few years away from grandpa status but its something I'm looking forward to.
