I had to update my list as I made a few additions. I have 250+ soaps and creams so sometimes have a hard time remembering them all

Among the ones I own:

1. Xpec Unscented Old version
2. Xpec Scented new version
3. Acqua Di Parma new pot version
4. Tabula Rasa
5. Baume.Be
6. I Coloniali Rhubarb (the silver coloured tube)
7. Castle Forbes
8. Le Pére Lucien (4 of my 6 LPL's are more cream like than soap like in texture, sort of like Tabula Rasa in texture)
9. Antica Barbieria Colla Cream
10. Esbjerg

Honourable mention:
Atkinson Lavender (made by I Coloniali)
Molton Brown Cream
Tabac Shaving Cream
Speick Shaving Cream
Palmolive Classic (with palm oil)
GFT Coconut
TOBS Coconut
TF&H Ultimate
Proraso Red
St. James (I own all 5, all are slick)
Cheers, Claus from Denmark

XPEC, on the other hand, I've found to be severely lacking in the slickness department. Maybe it's the water in Upstate NY?

XPEC can be finicky for sure.  I just lather it up and use a good mixture of water.  I call it stubborn, lol, but I love the scent.  I also have the unscented version and it is the same thing, stubborn Big Grin

Weird - I have hard rock like water in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Xpec works flawlessly and is very easy to get perfect lather from each and every time.

It's slick as heck. I can shave an extra pass without putting on new lather and not get razor burn. That's slickness for me.

Weird? Of course it is, lol.....

Discounting croaps, I know that Tabac cream is tallow.
Are you sure about that?
I don't see Tallow in the LOI: http://www.shavemac.com/products/Shaving...Cream.html

Good call, tallow isn't listed. I wonder if it just doesn't work well in cream formulas.

Good call ask4Edge, I don't currently have a tube to check the ingredients directly but perhaps someone else does. I did head over to QED where I purchased my Tabac long ago and they still list it as tallow, although do not post specific ingredients. I know it took some performance hits early on and perhaps it is glycerin base these days.

Hmmm. Maybe that was just an oversight on their part(?). FWIW, I found another site, showing an older tube (with no tallow in the ingredients): here

Tallowate was used in the old D.R.Harris Milk aftershave - whose (thin) consistency was much like whole (drinking) milk; I imagine, a (saponified) tallow shaving cream  could be made (and function well).

Although I recollect the original formula being tallow, not completely out of the question. Could also be an old image with updated ingredients as well as it is not the actual tube, particularly as it is their active sku.

Although very few actually post the ingredients, did a bit more searching and found these guys too...

Tried to submit a query via the Tabac site but the contact form won't complete. Let us know what you find!

I am a bit of a novice when it comes to creams as I much prefer soaps. I started using Kiss My Face cream and it was quite good, but I just prefer the scents I can get from the artisanal soaps.
Maybe, I should revisit some of the well-known creams to experiment. Shy

I didn't have luck with the Tabac contact form either, but, I phoned these guys, and got confirmation that the Tabac cream they ship is the latest version (horizontal logo), and that it doesn't contain tallow.
Per your information, it does appear that Tabac did use tallow in their creams, though, at one time - if that is indeed the case, hopefully, we'll get a post of the LOI (eventually), as I think it would be interesting to compare the two (full) lists of ingredients.

Restitutor Orbis
I don't have much creams but Body Shop Maca root worked pretty well for me. I just have to remember to use enough product, otherwise it's razor bumps town for me.
