Slant Head Question

I've only used an older 37c, but quite liked it. I wouldn't call tit a really aggressive razor; more so than the 33 or 34, but I enjoyed it. I've been thinking of grabbing one myself!

I have what I believe is the newer 37c slant. I feel it is outstanding. I pair it with PolySilver Super Iridium blades. This combo is all at once both sharp & mild. Once you get the angle/pressure factors dialed in, it is fantastic and is especially good on multi-day growth. I shaved a 7 day beard with it over Christmas and it took off the hair like nothing. Another thing I like about it is that you can use longer strokes than with other razors without cutting or irritating your face, which shortens the shave time; when I am in a hurry, it gets the call. It can easily be your daily driver. The only reason it is not my daily driver is because I could not resist getting a Blackbird razor in a moment of RAD. Now, I go back and forth between the two razors and I love it. The Blackbird requires a very precise angle/pressure match and working thru that translated over to the 37c so much that it totally upped my shave quality on the 37c as I refined my angle/pressure there as well. Now both are neck-to-neck (see what I did?) in overall shave quality and enjoyment despite the 37c being over $100 cheaper and chrome plated rather than machined SS. As long as you don't require a razor made in brass, SS or aluminum and are not looking for a family heirloom, the 37c is an absolute incredible value at under $50. And, since it costs so little, you will still feel able to acquire other razors (if you want) without breaking the bank, just like I did .

Rumour has it the the new style 37c has the name "Merkur" stamped underneath the cap. I've never seen it, as I have the older version, for sure, but that's what I was told.

Just looked at my 37c and as Bad Dad noted, it has the name "Merkur" stamped underneath the base plate (it's quite tiny and is located along one of the non blade side edges).
