Let me ask you a question, which maybe is obvious, but I can't tell... You have a LVS (Lavender, Vanilla, and Sandalwood soap). Then you have Sandalwood, which is described with notes of: Lavender, Vanilla, and Sandalwood. What's the difference between them?

Thanks.

Great question!
Short answer. We duped ourselves!
Long answer: A couple of years ago, one of our retailers told us that she felt there was a gap in the market for a shaving soap at or under $10. There are products of course, but most are not considered that great. So, we went to work.
Our original Sandalwood was born from a marketing perspective. We needed something that would be a great introduction for us to the Amazon world. Sandalwood has a great perception among folks interested in scent. Lavender and Vanilla in scent studies across different cultures and applications are consistently at the top for people just liking the scents. Our goal was to create a great scent with those elements in a pure essential oil form. It ain't cheap!
So, when we sought to make a $10 retail product, we settled on a 3 oz boxed puck. However, we could not use the original scent and keep the price point. So, I used some scent skills and tweaked the recipe with some lower cost ingredients to make LVS boxed pucks a reality. We still have some REAL sandalwood in there though!
Our Black Tie Razor Company LVS 3 oz puck is a strong seller. Later, we added the 4 oz jar in the Sir Henry's brand. It is called Black Tie LVS.
To your nose...LVS will be slightly more lavender forward than the Sandalwood, but if you had the two of them side by side and you didn't know they were from the same company, you'd think that LVS was trying to be dupe of Sir Henry's Sandalwood.
And there you have it. Thanks, Dominick

Lol. I have the Sandalwood on my radar. The Lavender part scares me, as I went from disliking the scent of lavender to really hating it. But I will give it a try soon enough.

Might be my Xmas gift to myself.

Big thanks to Lip for tuning me in to one of my favorite products. This stuff is great. For the reasons Lip enumerated - and I want to elaborate even more :

1. Scent strength is perfect - don't have to jam my nose in the puck, and blooming fills the bathroom nicely.
2. Ease of lathering is stupendous.
3. Thirsty and yogurt like for us face latherers. Can build a nice bit of whisker batter on the face without it breaking down, dissipating, or drying out.
4. Don't like it - bounce it back to DOM
5. Scents are unique and well blended. 3 of them are in particular outstanding for me [Barbershop, El Jefe, and. Sandalwood].
6. It is nice to roll with unscented occasionally, and for sensitive skin fellas-you face a great option.
7. I agree with Lip that this is reminiscent of Tabac [and Fine, MdC IMO], but it is easier to lather and the post is way better.
8. Perfect jars! Top quality and the right size.
9. I will use this soap to intro newbies to wet shaving per the performance and lather making ease.

Lip, why did I wait till i am an old man to try this?

And the balm is becoming part of my daily post. Like it in the jar rather than those damn cheap squeeze bottles. Travels better.

Yeah- I am a fan boy
