My paternal Grandfather was a barber who passed away in the early 60's. We found some of his barber equipment when we were going through some old boxes up in the attic at Thanksgiving, and there were 4 straight razors in boxes that box. We're trying to determine if they are worth anything and I was hoping to get some opinions here after acquiring enough information to be dangerous elsewhere.
1) one marked 132 Red Imp on the blade and redimp wedge on the scales
2) one marked "Beckher-Otte.Inc", Solingen and made in Germany on one side and Welch on the other
3) one that doesn't have any markings on it at all. It has some rust on the blade, the rest are rust free.
4) one marked Robeson Shuredge, Rochester N.Y. and 1603. This is the only one that has a box that matches the razor, the rest have boxes that don't. One of the boxes has "Shumate Peacemaker" on it and the other is a Wade & Butcher box.
My grandfather passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. All of the razors look like they were used regularly in the barbershop and look like they were part of the equipment that was kept when the shop closed after he passed away. They're all pretty sharp too!
I've got some pictures saved on my hard drive, is there a way to post them without a link?
