Show off your Straights!

This is one of my favorite acquisitions; a Geo Wostenholm & Sons Washington Works.  If I recall, it was made somewhere between 1848 and 1890 (no England on the stamp).

I'm trying to decide if I want to keep the wood scales  (which I have no idea if are original anyway) or what to replace them with.

How I received it:



After cleaning it up a little:

A pair of NOS Amco #23. They were still wrapped in antirust paper. The blade is square tip and measures in at 11/16 width. Made by Royal Crown Cutlery and guessing mid 1900's. The iPhone does not give them the justice they deserve, they are gorgeous

Very good restro. The scales are definitely not original. The steel would be a good candidate for blonde or honey horn scales, IMO

Picked up this ERN with a nice gold wash, very unique scales, and awesome spine work
