I want to give a shout out on the quality of Fuzzyface soaps.  He currently has a 50% off sale, using code: LABORDAY50

My experience is that he has developed an incredibly high quality soap base.

I will say that most of the soaps I have tried have received good press on this forum.  In light of that, they are all very good and none of them are significantly better than the others.

The only other soap base that has struck me the same way Fuzzyface does is my B&M Cologne Russo.  Also, there is a gentleman named Nathan who is well known for generating really good lather.  Part of what people want to re-create is how he is able to generate shiny lather.  I have never seen lather that shines the way this Fuzzyface does.  If it were any shinier I would have to wear sunglasses to shave. Smile

I also like that Fuzzyface sells three ounce tins rather than bigger ones.  I like buying soap, so smaller amounts, with correspondingly decreased pricing, allow me to try more.  Also, his samples are one ounce, which is much bigger than most.  I like this because you get enough of a sample to really try it out.

I don't know James, owner of Fuzzyface and don't have a connection.  In other words, I'm not white washing.

My favorite scents from him are:

Sensuous Sandalwood
Cherry Pipe Tobacco
Tobacco & Bay Leaf (My favorite scent)

The non tobacco scents are more predominant in the soaps that have tobacco.

He also offers unscented for those that want that.

Not to brag but I get that type of lather out of nearly every soap in my den. Merkur Man's method is how I learned so I'll give him the credit, but it's not only a few soaps capable of producing it. If done correctly most quality soaps should yield those results. I'll check out Fuzzy.

It will be good to see what you find if you get some Fuzzyface. I get good shine with all, but one, of mine, but not as easily or bright as with Fuzzyface.

50% off is stellar!
Prices are very nice to begin with.

English Rose and a few others sounds interesting. I just have too much soap to sensibly buy another...

I'm with you. We have the Nashville shave meet-up coming. Stirling will be there and a local company will be there. I already have too much soap and I know I'm going to come home with a bunch more.

+1, but I learned how to generate the shiny lather through practice and not via Nathan's video. Big Grin

Most soaps will shine, but they don't all shine at the same level, nor do they generate the super shiny lather with the same effort. Nathan says as much in the video linked above in that he selected a specific soap for the shiny lather video.

The Fuzzyface soaps handle generating the shiny lather better than other high quality artisan soaps that I have.

It doesn't matter how shiny it is, it's how it performs as a whole.

Agreed, though the soap has awesome performance. The high shine is a bonus! Not to mention that Nathan did a video specifically about shiny lather because people asked for it.

I saw a review, then the 50% sale and pulled the trigger. My expectations were modest at best. The scent was pleasant (Cold Water) and actually improved with the friction. It was the performance that really shined, truly as good as many soap at twice the price.
Ah, che bel vivere, che bel piacere per un barbiere di qualita.
