I really don't think this soap is going away, it is really holding the line! I loaded sooooo looonnnngggg that I had to be careful to fling lather by moving my hand too fast!

But it is a great soap, and I fully enjoyed the shave time this morning. My day started a bit earlier than intended with a minor clean up emergency, and afterwards the shave time was like a reward time!

APSCo G5A in Zombie Genes by Trotter Handcrafts.

And yup, I like the 5A better than the 5C as it is "looser" and more splayable, which is to my liking. I will be looking to replace the 5C as the Messier handle is just a beautiful reddish handle and I want to enjoy it more.

Happy Saturday!
Sounds like a good shave and an awesome soap. Glad its working so well for you Eric.

I never used a G5A, but the G5C is neck and neck with the 2BED for "top dog" in my den. I might try a G5A in the next brush I buy. I always say, "no more brushes"... Then I immediately buy Three. Lol.

Happy Saturday!

My Saturday Project

Credit where credit due: this video on YT.

I ordered a set of stuff from Amazon that had 2 of everything, including the attachments needed for the drill.

Part way through the polishing of the handle:

And after polishing and wiping it off with a microfiber cloth:

The baseplate (a C safety bar) is more tricky to hold and not have it spun out of your hand! Here is what the after mess looked like.

And then we buff with the white fluffy wheel:

After wiping/polishing with a clean cloth:

For the curious, I positioned the drill on its side next to my utility sink, and lifted its body up a little with a folded cloth. This kept the vibration and vibration noise to a minimum. I tried not to block the vents as I don't know what accident would be waiting to get me!

I am pretty pleased!

Hey I thought you said you weren't good with tools or your dad said you shouldn't be using tools or something like that in the past? The results are amazing Eric! Great job!!

Yeah, I did say that! That drill is my only power tool! I figure I can't lose a finger with it, and the wheels/discs I used are foam, so sort of Nerf Tools for me!!
Thanks, I think it looks good, too. It is destined for the Overlander, and I'll have a silver and gold looking razor. (Did you start singing "Silver & Gold" by Burl Ives in your head?! Ear worm!!)

Thanks, Paul! You did an awesome job cleaning up that black & gold push button! It will be making its shaving debut Thursday, to kick off SEptember!

The Overlander nickel-plated brass head with the Gladius 3" handle.
Personna Comfort Coated (1)
Scentsless CK-6 formula
And the Green Ray Tribble brush (covered by an invisibility cloth!)

I am using DEs for the last 4 days of August, not sure which, and not sure what brush, so I am winging it! I knew when I went to bed that this was the majority of the line up, so they had the photo shoot.

Tomorrow I will most likely compare the original OL handle, which is 3.5" and the Gladius handle. The arthritis in my hand seems to act up on occasion, especially when holding the OL in any orientation other than top up. I figured out this was because in the top up orientation, the handle end rests on my pinky. I noted that is how I hold most razors, so if that is odd then yay me!

What I noticed today was that the shorter handle made a big difference. Or my arthritis wasn't acting up. But I liked the way it felt and I like the mixed look. I think. (Already in the back of my mind a voice is telling me that it's only $30 or less to plate just a handle, and then all would be nickel again. I am stuffing that voice into a locked room, and maybe let it out around Christmas.)

Dave shaved today with the aluminum OL, I believe. I have one without the prettier handle he has, and that 3.5" handle is no problem, being aluminum. And I don't mind the length. All this to say, it is the weight of brass at 3.5" that gets me. I have the long SS Yates 921 handle and it doesn't bother me but look how spindly it is! And the Sabre is right on the edge. I suspect it is maybe shorter, as the mass is listed as the same as the OL. I don't recall discomfort with it, but I will find out come SEptember! And if I can remember, I'll check its length. Memory says it is shorter than the OL, but I am not sure.
