This morning, a "luxury" shave in that I don't have to be anywhere or do anything (other than some "honey-do" stuff). I went for a full on four pass shave with some favorite stuff!

I'm sorry to ask Eric, but it's bugging me... Is it just lighting or does the handle on the Overlander have a bit of brass color to it?

I'm back to considering this for my backup (you know, because I have to have something in the works, lol). So I'm scrutinizing the idea again.

It looks fabulous, regardless. The only thing missing from this shave pic is the camel (it was Wednesday, right?).

Have a great day!

Here it is in a different room. I think we are seeing reflections of things nearby. I will double check and get back to you.

In the meantime, I will contact Dave in KY regarding the lighting guy he uses!  Winking

Whew!

Yeah, it looks like it's just the yellow lighting or reflection of yellowish things. Thanks Eric!

I keep wanting to get a light box, but then I'd have to explain to the wife why I want one... And endure the mocking.

Another unexpected irritating soap this morning.  Huh

Awhile back, I was able to get small tin of Sheermonick Puur on sale. This morning was the first use. The SOC Mistura was the brush, as it fit the tub better. My Fluffy Industries 86S was on deck but it's for big boy soaps, not for stinkin' little tins!  Tongue

The Puur lathered up to a wonderful creamy texture. I took my time getting my razor ready (I forgot to set it in the sink basin of warm water. I love the feel of a warm razor head cutting down the stubble, so I was letting it soak). I began to notice tingling on both checks. (Random thought: remember Norm from Cheers? "Hey Norm, what's shakin'?" "Four cheeks and a couple of chins!") Well, as I started shaving, other areas started tingling. And the tingling diminished as I shaved off the stubble and lather.

The decision was made to rinse off, and switch to a different soap. I also decided to switch to a different brush, a super soft high set SynBad. I was reaching for the mixed knot 86S, but then figured I should go as gently as possible, and while I love the mixed knots, they have some scrub.

In the end, a great shave and no irritation, so the goal of a Really Comfortable Shave was achieved!

The last shave of the week with the Karve Overlander.
Personna Platinum Chrome (8)
Captain's Choice Unscented soap (which was gifted to me and I don't see it listed on the CC website, but it is a soap, not a cream, and lathers FAST!)
SOC Mistura with butterscotch handle

Mail call was great today: no bills and 2 shave items!! (See details here

Planned for the weekend is a shave supply reduction. I have too much great stuff that I am not using and I want it used!! So I am working on the culling. There are many brushes, as by the end of last year into almost Spring of this year I went completely bananas buying knots, handles, and brushes. It was loads of fun and is still neat to pop out a knot and try something else. But I have too many. My wife found the back up box (not that it was hidden, just no room in the bathroom so I moved it to the guest bathroom. She assumed it was excess and asked just how many do I need and let's not create clutter! At first, I was peeved (in my defense, I was overly tired and stressed by work conditions) but upon taking some breaths, I realized I felt the same, too much and it clutters my mind and our home). I got to thinking, and may try offering it all up with the possibility of combining a razor with a brush or two for a discount. Who knows. It all may fall flat, times are toughening up out there. The point is, for you the faithful reader of my rambling thoughts, that if a particular knot or brush struck your fancy, shoot me a PM and we can discuss it it's on the list to sell! I'd know then it is going to a great place!

Not up for consideration are my Blackland stuff, Yates, and Karve! As I am starting to get duplicates of various vintage razors, or things too similar, some of those will go up on the block as well.

Now that I've announced my intentions, I better get cracking on the lists and photo shoots!!

Have a great weekend, DFS!
